Accessibility statement for the fd-is-frontdesign website

This statement describes the accessibility measures of f/d Front-Design + is Industrie-Schilder GmbH. We design our digital content in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) with the goal of making it user-friendly and accessible for all people, regardless of individual abilities.

Compliance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of compliance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. This website is currently partially accessible, and the requirements of WCAG are largely met.

Accessibility Features Already Implemented:

  • Responsive Design: Content automatically adapts to different screen sizes, ensuring usability on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops.

  • Readable Layout: We use legible font sizes and sufficient color contrast to make content as accessible as possible.

  • Structured Content: Pages are organized using a clear heading hierarchy to enable logical navigation and improve orientation.

  • Alternative Texts for Images: Many of the images used already include descriptive alt texts to make visual information accessible to screen reader users.

  • Keyboard Navigation: The most important navigation functions and content are fully accessible via keyboard.

Currently Not Fully Accessible Elements:

  • Images and graphics do not automatically include generated alternative texts by default.

  • Subtitles, audio descriptions, or content in sign language are not currently available for audio and video media.

  • No automated semantic structure using ARIA roles or landmarks has been implemented.

  • The logical reading order of the content has not yet been systematically reviewed or adjusted.

  • It is not guaranteed that all information is understandable without color differentiation.

  • Full content magnification (up to 400%) without loss of layout is not guaranteed.

  • Content that appears on hover or keyboard focus is not automatically controlled or dismissible.

  • The website has not yet been checked for keyboard traps that may hinder navigation.

  • There are no mechanisms in place to pause, stop, or control timing of automatically running content.

  • Content that blinks or flashes visually is not automatically detected or prevented.

  • Mechanisms for skipping directly to main content (e.g., “Skip to content” links) are not provided.

  • Individual pages may not have a specifically defined <title> tag.

  • A consistent structure using correctly placed headings is not ensured throughout.

  • Alternative input methods such as gesture control, enlarged target areas, or motion actuation are not currently supported.

  • Language changes within content are not programmatically marked.

  • No additional mechanisms are provided for understanding complex terms, abbreviations, or technical language.

  • Form fields do not offer automated feedback or correction assistance in the case of input errors.

  • There is no systematic check for consistent navigation elements or recurring components across the site.

  • Information regarding the name, role, and status of UI elements is not programmatically transmitted.

  • Status messages such as errors or confirmations may not be accessible to screen reader users.
